• Blackpool Spiced Rum is a spiced-rum expression from Lemon Hart — a “Demerara-style” rum distilled by Demerara Distillers Limited (DDL) in Guyana. 

• It’s distilled from 100% molasses and made from single-estate Demerara rums (i.e. not a neutral-grain base) — following Lemon Hart’s “Return to Heritage” program, which emphasizes authentic Demerara rum components. 

• Bottled at 43 % ABV (86 proof), which is strong enough to give body and warmth but still easy to mix or sip. 

Tasting Note 

Nose / Aromas

• Vanilla (often described as “Madagascar vanilla”), cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, ginger — classic “island spice” profile. 

• Underlying aromas of treacle/molasses, toasted marshmallow or caramel, dark fruit, and sometimes a hint of toasted wood or oak from the barrel aging. 

Palate / Taste

• Rich molasses/treacle sweetness, brown butter or toffee, burnt caramel, cocoa or dark-chocolate notes, sometimes dark banana or roasted-fruit undertones. 

• Spices show up mid-palate / finish: cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, ginger — giving warmth and complexity rather than just sugariness. 

• Some residual dryness or “oak-tinge” on the finish (bourbon-barrel oak + slight bitter or astringent notes), which helps keep it from being cloying despite the sweet/spicy character.
