Return Policy

In accordance with California Business and Professions Code § 23104.1 and California Civil Code § 1723, alcoholic beverages sold are generally non-returnable. Alcohol cannot be resold once it leaves our possession, and all sales are considered final unless the product is confirmed defective.

 

Damages and Issues

Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us within 3 days of delivery if the item is defective, damaged, or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right. Claims submitted after 3 days of confirmed delivery may not be eligible for review.

To process any damage or defect claim, clear photo evidence is required, including:
• The outer shipping box (all sides)
• The inner packaging materials
• The product received
• The shipping label

Refunds will not be issued for minor cosmetic imperfections that are not recognized as manufacturing defects by the producer.

For example, this includes but is not limited to:
• Light scratches on the bottle or label
• Minor dents, scuffs, or wear on the outer box
• Slight label misalignment
• Small imperfections in packaging that do not affect the product quality

These minor cosmetic issues do not impact the integrity or quality of the product and therefore do not qualify for a refund.

General Returns:

  1. In accordance with California law, wine and spirits sold are generally non-returnable. However, defective wine and spirits may be returned for credit or replacement within seven days of the delivered date.
  2. All returned wines must be accompanied by a valid receipt.
  3. If an order is returned to Hi-Proof due to incorrect addresses, multiple failed attempts, issues with UPS Access Point, UPS rescheduled delivery or has been refused by the recipient, you will be refunded for the order minus 20% restocking fee and shipping fee.
  4. Reshipment fees on all returned orders will have a return fee of $15, plus additional $5 reshipment fee per bottle.

Cancellation Policy:

  1. It is understandable that circumstances can arise which require changes / cancellation of an order. Customers will have up to 24 hours from the time that their order is placed to cancel the order free of charge. Any cancelation requests after the initial 24 hour period will be charged a 15% restocking fee.

In Store Pick Up order / Storage Fees:
In store pick up orders are usually held for 1 ~ 2 weeks. If an in store pick up order is not picked up within 60 days we will require a storage fee to be assessed per bottle per month. 

Exceptions / non-returnable items
Certain types of items cannot be returned, like perishable goods (such as food, flowers, or plants), custom products (such as special orders or personalized items), and personal care goods (such as beauty products). We also do not accept returns for hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases. Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item.

Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.


Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.


European Union 14 day cooling off period
Notwithstanding the above, if the merchandise is being shipped into the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days, for any reason and without a justification. As above, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.


Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.

We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.
