The 2023 Shafer Vineyards Red Shoulder Ranch Chardonnay is a single-vineyard, Napa Valley Chardonnay from the esteemed Red Shoulder Ranch estate in Carneros. Crafted by winemaker Elias Fernandez using sustainable farming methods, this vintage reflects the cool-climate elegance of a warm Napa summer. The grapes underwent whole-cluster pressing and wild-yeast fermentation, with a thoughtful blend of 40% new French oak barrels and 60% stainless steel, and notably no malolactic fermentation to preserve its crispness.
