Maker’s Mark The Lost Recipe Series Edition 02 is the second annual release in Maker’s Mark’s limited Lost Recipe Series, a special program that revives experimental stave combinations from the distillery’s historic Private Selection archives to create flavor profiles never before offered in the core lineup. 

Crafted in small batches at the Maker’s Mark Distillery in Loretto, Kentucky, this edition is finished with a unique blend of wood staves — including Baked American Pure 2, Maker’s Mark 46, and Roasted French Mocha — that brings rich, layered character to the classic wheated bourbon foundation. 

Tasting Note

Appearance:
Warm amber-gold with a glossy sheen.

Nose:
Deep and inviting aromas of roasted coffee beans, dark chocolate, vanilla, warm oak, and subtle dried fruits. 

Palate:
Full and rich — intense notes of espresso, toasted almond, molasses, and charred oak are balanced by Maker’s Mark’s signature wheated softness, with hints of caramel and sweet wheat. 

Finish:
Long and warming with lingering mocha-vanilla sweetness, seasoned wood, and gentle baking spice.
