Ulysses Cabernet Sauvignon 2020 is a powerful and refined Napa Valley Cabernet from the historic Ulysses Vineyard in Oakville, produced under the direction of Christian Moueix. Situated on the Oakville bench over gravelly, clay-loam alluvial soils, the vineyard is ideally suited to producing deeply concentrated yet elegant Cabernet Sauvignon.

The 2020 vintage is composed of approximately 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Petit Verdot, creating a wine with impressive depth, freshness, and structure.

The wine opens with aromas of tangerine zest, blackcurrant, dark cherry, and fresh flowers, followed by layers of blackberry, plum, dark chocolate, tobacco, eucalyptus, mint, and roasted cedar. The palate is full-bodied and expansive, with polished yet firm tannins, vibrant acidity, and remarkable concentration. A long, persistent finish carries notes of red fruit, blood orange, chocolate, and warm earth.

The 2020 vintage earned 98 points from James Suckling, 94 from Jeb Dunnuck, and 93 from Decanter and Wine Spectator. Despite the challenging 2020 growing season, the fruit was harvested before the Glass Fire affected the region, and meticulous berry-by-berry selection resulted in a limited production of approximately 700 cases.
