The Frank August Case Study: 06 Legacy Bourbon is a limited-release, small-batch Kentucky Straight Bourbon that blends 8, 9, and 10 year old whiskeys. As part of the Case Study series, each batch is a unique, one-time expression. It is bottled at 54.62% ABV (109.2 proof).
Tasting Note
- Nose: Inviting and layered, with vanilla bean, honeycomb, and caramelized pear. It also has undertones of seasoned oak, baking spices, candied fruit, and brown sugar.
- Palate: Rich and expressive, featuring waves of butterscotch, dark toffee, and baking spice. Notes of roasted pecan and a hint of orange zest provide balance.
- Finish: Long and deliberate, with echoes of toasted sugar, charred oak, and dried cherry. It has a silky mouthfeel and a powerful, balanced finish.
- Appearance: Rich amber with copper undertones, with "viscous and steady" legs that indicate its structure and maturity.
