Palate: The Madeira barrique finish brings deep fruit-cake flavours, stewed fruit and rich oak vanilla. A textured mouth-feel, with hints of dried raisins, candied citrus peel, and perhaps a trace of tobacco or leather from the long maturation.
Finish: Long, warming and layered — lingering orchard fruit, toasted oak, gentle spice (nutmeg or cinnamon) and an inviting dryness that rounds off the sweetness of the finish.
