Xicaru — the Zapotec word for beautiful — says everything about what Mezcalero Fernando Santibañez set out to create. Made from his grandmother's recipe at a small palenque in Santiago Matatlán, Oaxaca, this is mezcal rooted in tradition and crafted with genuine care.

100% Espadín agave, roasted in a conical stone pit over native mesquite and ocote wood, tahona crushed, naturally fermented in open pine vats, and double distilled in copper stills. Every step done by hand, the old way, the right way.

The result is a mezcal that is approachable without being simple. Earthy and robust on the nose with natural smoke, roasted agave, and a hint of citrus. The palate opens up with rich vegetal maguey character, fresh herbs, and a touch of pepper, finishing clean, dry, and warmly satisfying. The smoke is present but never overbearing — balanced exactly as it should be.
