Unlike the classic core releases (e.g., the 16 yr), this bottling was designed to showcase the distillery’s signature smoky, peaty character balanced with a sweeter, oak-influenced profile from exclusive maturation in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels. 

This combination softens and rounds Lagavulin’s traditionally powerful peat, making Sweet Peat both accessible to newcomers and interesting to seasoned Islay fans. 

Aroma (Nose)
