This limited-edition release from Alma del Jaguar is part of their “Barricas” series, exploring distinctive cask finishes. The Ruby Wine Cask Finish expression is an Añejo tequila matured in Spanish oak barrels that previously held Ruby Port (fortified wine) from Portugal’s Douro Valley.

Tasting Notes

• Nose: Sweet cooked agave, ripe red berries (strawberry, cherry), dark plum, a touch of toasted oak and gentle vanilla. 

• Palate: Rich and velvety with cooked agave at the core, layered with red-fruit jam (black cherry, raspberry), toasted almond and nut medley, subtle chocolate notes and a smooth oak spice. 

• Finish: Long and refined the red-fruit and jammy tones linger, followed by a soft oak warmth, caramel undertones and a hint of spice in the aftermath.
