Salty, smoky and seriously tasty
"The nose hits immediately with salty coastal air, tropical pineapple and a touch of smoky BBQ. There’s milk chocolate in there too, with dark cherries bringing out that Port cask influence. It’s a wonderfully sweet-and-savory combination that had me wanting to taste it before I’d even poured a glass. On the palate, it’s warm, smoky and gently peated (I’d call it lightly rather than richly peated). Salty, ginger and black pepper lead into dark cherry jam and cacao. Lots going on, but nothing feels out of balance. The finish is on the shorter side, but the warmth hangs around nicely. Overall, there’s a breezy, coastal quality that keeps the whole thing feeling fresh and very drinkable. I really like this one. From memory, I’d put it slightly ahead of the 12 Year Old which I also enjoyed."
