Since 1881, King of Kentucky has represented the pinnacle of Kentucky bourbon heritage. Revived by Brown-Forman in 2018 after a 50-year absence, the brand offers whiskey connoisseurs a rare window into Brown-Forman's most exceptional barrel archives and this release marks an historic milestone.

For the first time in over 90 years, King of Kentucky introduces a Small Batch collection. Batch 2 is the middle expression of this three-batch limited series, and the most distinctly fruit-forward of the trio. Built from approximately 100 hand-selected barrels aged 12 to 18 years across multiple Brown-Forman rickhouses, these barrels were originally earmarked as single barrel candidates before being reserved for even greater depth.

Aged in Brown-Forman's iconic heat-cycled warehouses — where steam brings temperatures to 85–90°F during colder months to accelerate maturation — the angel's share is extraordinary, with some barrels retaining as little as 16% of their original volume. What remains is pure, concentrated bourbon of remarkable character.

Bottled at 53.75% ABV (107.5 proof) without chill filtration, Batch 2 sits at the sweet spot of the trio sweeter and spicier than Batch 1, with a pronounced dark fruit complexity that sets it apart. As Master Distiller Emeritus Chris Morris explains, each proof point unlocks a distinct dimension of the same whiskey: "Some flavor components are more water-soluble. Some are more alcohol-soluble. That little bit of water releases certain characteristics."
