Leopold Bros. 8 Year Cask Strength Bourbon Whiskey

Distilled from a mash bill of 65% corn, 20% malted barley, and 15% rye, Leopold Bros Cask Strength is aged for at least 8 years and finished in barrels that previously held Leopold Bros Three Chamber Rye.  It is then bottled without chill filtration at a cask strength of 110 proof.  The nose offers sweet and fruity notes of pear, candied orange, and maple with undertones of cocoa and oak.  The palate follows through on the sweet fruit with apricot, orange marmalade, and pear flavors that give way to chocolate and graham cracker notes.  The fruit lingers through the finish where it is joined by lavender, mint, and oak.
