Mezcal de Leyendas Pichumel is a limited-production artisanal Mezcal Blanco from San Luis Atolotitlán, Puebla, crafted by third-generation mezcalero José “El Güero” Ortega.

Made from 100% Agave marmorata, also known as Pichumel, this distinctive agave is known for producing expressive, mineral-driven mezcals. The agave can take approximately 12 to 20 years to reach maturity.

Traditional production includes roasting the agave in an underground pit oven, manual milling, fermentation in oak wood vats, and distillation in a traditional copper alembic. The result is a fresh and distinctive mezcal with aromas of freshly cut grass and vegetal notes, followed by flavors of raw sugar cane and a pleasantly dry finish.

Bottled at 48.2% ABV, Mezcal de Leyendas Pichumel is ideal for sipping neat and exploring the unique character of this lesser-known agave variety.
