Poderi Luigi Einaudi Barolo Monvigliero 2018 750ml
Poderi Luigi Einaudi Barolo Monvigliero 2018 is an elegant and expressive Barolo from the prestigious Monvigliero Cru in Verduno, Piedmont, Italy. This was the inaugural vintage of Einaudi’s Monvigliero, created to showcase the refined and aromatic character of one of Verduno’s most celebrated vineyard sites.
Made from 100% Nebbiolo, the wine comes from vineyards planted on soils rich in limestone and chalk. The cooler, northern location of Monvigliero contributes to the wine’s lifted floral character, vibrant freshness, and elegant tannins.
The bouquet reveals expressive aromas of red berries, wild strawberry, violet, rose, fresh plum, and delicate spices, with subtle savory and earthy nuances. On the palate, the wine is fresh and juicy, supported by firm yet enveloping tannins, bright acidity, red fruit, floral notes, and spice. The finish is long, persistent, and beautifully balanced.
The wine was aged for approximately 3 months in concrete followed by 30 months in large oak barrels. The 2018 vintage received 93 points from Poderi Luigi Einaudi’s listed wine critics and 90 points from Falstaff.
