• This is part of GlenAllachie’s Virgin Oak Series, specifically the 8‑year-old batch finished in Scottish Sessile Oak (Quercus petraea) casks sourced from the Atlantic coast of Scotland

• The oak used is quite rare and difficult to work with (grows slowly, knots, etc.), making this finish especially distinctive. 

• Before use, the oak was air-dried for 36 months, then toasted and charred to a medium level.

• Bottled at 48% ABV, with no added color and non-chill-filtered to preserve the whisky's natural character.

• The “golden sunset” color is part of its visual appeal. 

Tasting Notes

Nose (Aroma):

• Baked oats, rich butterscotch, and creamy toffee.

• Warm spices: cinnamon and gingersnaps.

• Heather honey adds a delicate floral sweetness. 

Palate (Taste):

• Generous lashings of heather honey and orchard fruits (like apples or pears). 

• A zest of lemon gives a citric lift. 

• Creamy white chocolate richness, mingled with cinnamon and ginger spice. 

• On the finish: toffee and butterscotch linger.
